Flamenco Fashion as identity, craftsmanship and international projection: BOLEO GLOBAL at the 1st professional flamenco fashion congress

A meeting to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the Andalusian creative sector

Last week, our colleague Charo Juárez Vega participated in the 1st Professional Flamenco Fashion Congress, held in Córdoba, an event that brought together professionals, experts, and key stakeholders from the fashion and craftsmanship sectors.

The congress established itself as a space for reflection on the evolution of flamenco fashion as a creative industry, its cultural positioning, and its projection into international markets.

Craftsmanship, identity and value

Among the various round tables held, the session titled “Craftsmanship, identity and value: what makes us unique” stood out, featuring Samary Fernández Feito, Charo Izquierdo (EL ESPAÑOL and Magas), and Pepa Bueno, Director of the Spanish Fashion Creators Association.

The debate focused on craftsmanship as a differentiating element, not only from an aesthetic or cultural perspective, but also as an economic and strategic asset within the fashion industry.

Sector overview: Challenges and opportunities

Charo also participated in the session “Sector overview: where we come from and where we are going. Challenges and opportunities”, contributing her perspective as a specialist in internationalisation, fashion production, luxury craftsmanship, and Geographical Indications applied to crafts.

The session allowed for an analysis of the sector’s main challenges, as well as the opportunities linked to professionalisation, internationalisation, and the recognition of origin value in global markets.

Recognition of the flamenco fashion ecosystem
